16. Nanette Merrill – Kettles in the Kitchen

nbmerrill@gmail.com

Evening

For beginner to advanced this is an enjoyable project for any quilter. The kitchen/house blocks are easily pieced and the kettles are a smooth flowing shape well suited for any method of appliqué. With a combination of fussy cutting and fabric selection you can add charm and character to the little kitchen cottages. The kettles use trim or rick rack to bring detail and personality. If you don’t have a quilt hanging in your kitchen yet, now is the time to make one. This project also works up perfectly in seasonal fabric for holidays like Valentine’s Day and Christmas. The kitchens and kettles will remind you of simple days long gone but fondly remembered.
