13. Joyce Weeks – Mary Belle

This is a new quilt pattern. The blocks are a variation of the “Union Star”. I love civil war era fabrics and I will teach you some simple ways to put together this fun, easy quilt. The quilt can be made with any variety of fabrics. I just picked “Civil War” because it was my preference. The quilt is 68” x 80” finished but can be made larger or smaller depending upon the number of blocks you choose to make.

Fabric requirements:
2 ½ yards for backgrounds (fat 1/8 th for each block)
2 ½ yards for fabric scraps for stars (scraps need to be at least 10” square)
¾ yard for sashing
¼ yard for corner posts
¾ yard for 1 st border
1 ½ yard for 2 nd border
