Back to Quilting Classes
Saturday, June 14th - Morning
Beginning Appliqué Appliqué is now easier than ever with this new template-free method! After over twenty years, Jeana has found a simpler way to appliqué. This class is just right for the beginner and experienced quilter alike. Jeana will gently guide you through her techniques for quick and easy marking in preparation for stitching and on through basic needle-turn techniques to stitching perfect points and circles. We will stitch a simple apple wreath designed from Jeana’s book, Forget-Me-Knots. When the class is finished you will wonder why you ever thought appliqué was difficult.

Dance Partners Come to this class and find out how much fun it is to sew a puzzle. This quilt is straight forward sewing until you think you are done. Then you have to cut it apart and reposition the pieces, like a puzzle, and resew. If you are brave enough to cut your quilt top apart you get the rewards of a fabulous new design emerging. This is a great quilt for you to use those fat quarters from that new line of fabric that you just fell in love with.

Mandevilla Quilt 50 x 50 Sampler Size The Mandevilla Quilt was one of the first quilts I made. I just loved it and have made it many, many times since. I was struck by the contrast that this quilt has and the complexity. The quilt is quite simple to put together, it looks more complicated than it is. I think this class is good for all levels of quilters from a beginner to an advanced. We will work on the sampler size and from there you can make a bigger one. Come give this wonderful quilt a chance to come to life in your favorite colors. Skill Level: All Pattern Fee: $4.00 BSK plus 1-1/2” and 2-1/2” ruler used a lot |

I recently taught this class at the Utah Valley Guild meeting, and had nearly 60 women attend the class. I call it "A Critter in My Jelly Roll”. The class is actually a series of blocks made from our old favorite, with a new name; 2 1/2" strips, or the now famous, Jelly Rolls. From these seemingly little bits of fabric, we will make up the following "critters" ~ Snail's Trail, Spider Web, Flying Geese and Bear's Paw blocks. In addition, we'll add a unique and amazing little Pinwheel and the all-time favorite Pineapple. In just three hours, we'll be able to make up at least a sample of each of these blocks.
