This year we will have two parts for your enjoyment. Virginia Olson will entertain us with her quilting story. We will also have a SHOW AND TELL. We would like you to make a wall hanging, table runner, throw, anything you like. Must be completed out of your stash to bring and show us or bring a quilt from a previous class to show

Don’t be fooled by the complex look of this quilt, Pam breaks it down for easy and accurate assembly. Strip piecing techniques will be used. The more scraps you have, the better. Contrast is the name of the game. Choose any two color ways that have good contrast for a show-stopping quilt. Come learn how to make a kaleidoscope quilt that is fun and easy. In class you will learn how to cut your fabric in layers to create this design. A demonstration on graphing your quilt will be included so you can make your blocks unique. A small trunk show with a variety of different kaleidoscope quilts will also be included. There is nothing so simple or wonderful as a Star and/or Nine Patch. Put them together and it makes a perfect baby quilt for a boy or girl. This quilt can easily be made to fit any size you wish. 7. Nanette Merrill – Mixed Bag Half Day

This is an easy and fun bag in the perfect size and shape. You can mix and match scraps from your stash or use an assortment of 12 different fat quarters or fat eights to create a bag matching your personality and taste. The rick rack trim really makes the fabrics pop. There are 2 pockets inside the fully lined bag interior. The bag calls for a stiffer type of interfacing and combines that with a layer of batting and machine stitching. Everywhere I go this bag gets compliments. 8. Joyce Weeks – Cheers Me Up Half Day

This is a quilt that is so easy and fun to make. It will cheer you up! I have made this quilt using different fabrics or using a favorite fabric line. The quilt is made up of “shoo-fly” blocks and borders. The quilt is 67” x 81” but can be made any size depending upon the number of blocks used. Skill Level: All Pattern Fee: $6 Kit: $95 (includes pattern) I do like to use a couple of rulers for this quilt but they are certainly not required. 9. Bonnie Miles – Funky Diamonds Half Day

This very large (17” high) block is made from a central diamond, with rows added in the Log Cabin method. It is a wonderful way to use scraps – but also, as shown in the photo, lends its self well to the new, bright florals. A similar diamond can also be made using a smaller center. Whether the quilter is just a beginner, or a seasoned seamstress, this block/quilt is a delight to make. Instructions will be given for sizes varying from a crib size to a queen size.

Four 9 patches clustered together makes for a wonderful block. This quilt is a great way to use all of your scraps (or new fabrics of course). Closed Choose your favorite border fabric, and then select nine coordinates to make up the large Crossroads blocks for this quilt. With some pre-cutting, you will be able to get a good amount of the quilt made during classtime. a new quilt pattern. The blocks are a variation of the “Union Star”. I love civil war era fabrics and I will teach you some simple ways to put together this fun, easy quilt. The quilt can be made with any variety of fabrics. I just picked “Civil War” because it was my preference. The quilt is 68” x 80” finished but can be made larger or smaller depending upon the number of blocks you choose to make.

16. Nanette Merrill – Kettles in the Kitchen Evening

For beginner to advanced this is an enjoyable project for any quilter. The kitchen/house blocks are easily pieced and the kettles are a smooth flowing shape well suited for any method of appliqué. With a combination of fussy cutting and fabric selection you can add charm and character to the little kitchen cottages. The kettles use trim or rick rack to bring detail and personality. If you don’t have a quilt hanging in your kitchen yet, now is the time to make one. This project also works up perfectly in seasonal fabric for holidays like Valentine’s Day and Christmas.
